The present invention relates to a drug releasing biodegradable fiber chip for dental use in which fibers having an average diameter of 0.1 to 100 μm are entangled and compressed in a network form to produce fiber chips having a width of 1 to 20 mm, a length of 1 to 20 mm and a thickness of 0.05 to 5 mm, wherein the fibers include a biodegradable polymer and a medication as ingredients; the medication includes one or more antibiotics selected from chlorohexidine, minocycline and metronidazole; the biodegradable polymer comprises gelatin; and the biodegradable polymer and the medication are mixed in a weight ratio of 1:0.001 to 1:10. The drug releasing biodegradable fiber chips according to the present invention can be inserted into or attached to wound sites because fibers constituting the chips form a network (net) structure, and the fibers include a biodegradable polymer and a medication as ingredients so that release of the medication can be sustained for a predetermined time. Also, the chips are useful for antibiotics and the like, are highly bio-stable, cause no side effects after inserted into animals or humans, and realize drug release for a long period of time. |
