PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp that can prevent an excimer lamp lighting along and in proximity to an ultraviolet irradiation container from falling into an overheat state/an over-cooling state, thereby preventing an irradiation target from being heated by the lamp.SOLUTION: A discharge lamp has a light emission tube in which discharge gas is encapsulated, and an outer electrode (5) disposed on the outer surface of the light emission tube. Radial-direction projecting portions (21, 22) which project to the outside of the outer peripheral surface of the outer electrode (5) in the radial direction are provided at the positions facing an ultraviolet irradiation container (50) on the outer surface of the light emission tube, and axial-direction projection portions (31, 32) which project in the axial direction are provided to the end portions (11, 12) of the light emission tube.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
