PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve a disagreement among versions of programs stored in a plurality of option cards to be connected to an information processing device when the versions thereof are mutually different, and to normally operate respective option cards.SOLUTION: An information processing system has: a plurality of option cards to be operated by a built-in program; and a control unit that controls the option cards, in which the control unit is configured to: mutually compare versions of the programs respectively owned by the option card; select a unifying version when there is a difference in the versions; and instruct the option card to update the program with the program of the unifying version.
