PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nitride powder high speed tool steel having toughness without generating chipping while exhibiting excellent abrasion resistance and seizure resistance during high speed cutting tool application.SOLUTION: There is provided a nitride powder high speed tool steel excellent in abrasion resistance containing, by mass%, C:0.8 to 2.5%, Si:0.1 to 1.0%, Mn:0.1 to 1.0%, Cr:3.0 to 5.0%, Mo:2.0 to 8.0%, W:3.0 to 14.0%, V:2.0 to 10.0%, Co:0 to 10%, and N:0.3 to 1.5% with a Ceq value of 0.1 to 0.8 and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities and having 4 to 20 μm of average particle diameter of carbide in a structure by solidification molding of the steel powder, then hot rolling processing by forging and pressing, then hardening and tempering, average particle diameter of carbonitride in a range of 2 μm or less and distance between particles of a deposit of 10 μm or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
