PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forming method for colored pearl-tone double layered coating film which develops no coating defects such as peeling on an automobile body.SOLUTION: A forming method for pearl-tone double layered coating film which enables an electrodeposition film, a colored intermediate coating film, a brilliant coating film, and a clear coating to be formed on a substrate controls the light transmittance of the colored intermediate coating film to a predetermined range and turns heat-shielded by subtractive color mixture to have an infrared reflection rate of the double layered coating film by 60% or more. This forming method for pearl-tone double layered coating film for an automobile body using titanium dioxide is characterized in that the colored intermediate coating film contains a titanium dioxide pigment and a coloring pigment, and in that the coloring pigment is a coloring pigment having an infrared reflection rate in a wavelength region of 780-2500 nm by 30% or more, where two kinds or more of coloring pigments selected from among a blue-based pigment, a red-based pigment, a geen-based pigment, and a yellow-based pigment are used to have a volume average particle diameter of primary particles by 200-1000 nm as the titanium dioxide pigment.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
