PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new apparatus and method for producing a useful gas containing high-concentration hydrogen gas under energy saving conditions.SOLUTION: A hydrogen gas production apparatus of the present invention comprises 1) a coke oven (1), 2) a partial oxidation reforming reactor (2) provided with oxygen gas supply means (7) and burning coke oven gas extracted from the coke oven and mixed with oxygen gas supplied from the oxygen gas supply means to perform reforming by partial oxidation, 3) a water cooler (3) for the gas from the partial oxidation reforming reactor, 4) a catalyst reforming reactor (4) for heating the gas cooled in the water cooler and bringing it into contact with a catalyst to perform further reforming, 5) a gas purifier (5) for removing at least a part of condensed gas in the gas from the catalyst reforming reactor to produce a hydrogen gas product, and 6) a gas transfer device (6) including a vent pipe connecting the components 1) to 5) in this order, and causing a gas flow in a direction in that order.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
