PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid dynamic pressure bearing device which can stably exhibit desired bearing performance while being achieved in the thinning of a thickness.SOLUTION: A fluid dynamic pressure bearing device 1 comprises: a rotation-side bearing member 22 which is formed of a porous material; a static-side housing 7 which is formed into a bottomed cylindrical shape, and accommodates the bearing member 22; and a seal member 9 which is arranged so as to oppose an upper end face 22b of the bearing member 22. The bearing member 22 is supported to a radial direction and a thrust direction by oil films which are formed in a radial bearing clearance formed between an external peripheral face 22a of the bearing member 22 and an internal peripheral face 7a2 of the housing 7, and in a thrust bearing clearance formed between a lower end face 22c of the bearing member 22 and an internal bottom face 7b1 of the housing 7, and an axial clearance 10 containing air is interposed between the upper end face 22b of the bearing member 22 and a lower end face 9b of a seal member 9. A lubricant sump 12 is arranged at the upper end face 22b of the bearing member 22, and an end part 12a of the lubricant sump 12 is terminated within a range of the upper end face 22b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
