PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an article from overturning without damaging a building or an article.SOLUTION: In order to prevent furniture 4 (an article) arranged with the back face 4R opposed to a wall surface 3 in a vertical direction of a building 1 from overturning, an overturning prevention device 10 includes: a first base part 11 that can be attached to the building 1; a second base part 12 that can be attached to the furniture 4; and a damper 13, both ends of which are attached to the first base part 11 and the second base part 12, for generating damping force when the furniture 4 inclines on the wall surface 3 side. Since the speed and angle at which the furniture 4 inclines toward the wall surface 3 side are suppressed by the damping force of the damper 13, the amplitude at the time when the furniture 4 inclines in a direction separating from the wall surface 3 is suppressed, and the furniture 4 is prevented from overturning. Since the swinging movement of the furniture 4 is not forcibly suppressed, there is no risk of the furniture 4 or the building 1 being damaged.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
