An oxynitride-based fluorescent material represented by Sr_(n-y)Si_nO_(3n-3x)N_(2x):Eu_y has a monoclinic crystal form, and discharges a red or yellow red light by being excited by a near-infrared ray or light in a blue range. Also, the fluorescent material is an oxynitride-based red fluorescent having new composition and structure unlike an existing pure nitride-based red fluorescent material. In the formula, 0.6<=n<=1.6, 0.01<=x<=1, and 0.001<=y<=0.6.
