PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic switch that has large force of pulverizing ice frozen on the surface of a fixed contact 11 and can easily exclude pulverized ice from the surface of the contact.SOLUTION: A fixed contact 11 is provided with two projection thread portions 21 along the short-length direction on the contact face. The two projection thread portions 21 are provided to be spaced from each other at a predetermined interval in the longitudinal direction on the contact face, and a flat surface portion 22 is formed between the two projection thread portions 21. A movable contact 12 is provided with one convex thread portion 23 which is provided to one fixed contact 11a and intersects to the two projection thread portions 21, and one convex thread portion 23 which is provided to the other fixed contact 11b and intersects to the two projection thread portions 21. Accordingly, when the movable contact 12 comes into contact with the pair of fixed contacts 11, the projection thread portions 21 provided to the fixed contact 11 and the convex thread portion 23 provided to the movable contact 12 are brought into contact with each other at only the intersection portion, so that the contact pressure at the contact portion increases, and thus the force of pulverizing ice frozen on the surface of the fixed contact 11 intensifies.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
