PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a catalyst from being deteriorated in a fuel cell that has a catalyst including palladium coated with platinum.SOLUTION: A fuel cell system includes: a fuel cell having a catalyst layer carrying a catalyst including palladium coated with platinum; a determination section configured to determine whether an elution rate at which palladium included in the catalyst is eluded from the catalyst exceeds an acceptable level; and an opening control section configured to electrically separate the fuel cell from all of the loads connected to the fuel cell in the case where the determination section determines that the elution rate exceeds the acceptable level.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
