A short range automatic recognition and monitoring system and a method thereof are disclosed. According to an embodiment of the present invention, operation information on a device to be monitored is delivered from an integrated site server, which controls the device to be monitored using embedded programmable logic controller (PLC) control according to measurement data of the device to be monitored, to a management server. In this case, a terminal, which is connected through hot spot tethering using an undisclosed service set identification (SSID) of the site server and an SSID security number retrieved by executing an application on the terminal, can monitor operation information of the device to be monitored of the site server and a communication state between the site server and the management server, and increase a security level. Also, when a problem occurs in a main communication network between the site server and the management server, the hot spot service of the site server is terminated, and a Wi-Fi mode is turned on to search for a tethering-ready terminal, and the operation information on the device to be monitored of the site server is delivered to the management server via a mobile communication network through tethering with the searched terminal. Therefore, data of the corresponding device to be monitored can be protected from being damaged due to a failure of the communication network in a conventional remote monitoring system, and the time required for coping with an emergency situation can be reduced. In addition, since a camera at a site is driven under the control of the site server and a reason for failure at the site is analyzed based on image data from the camera, the reason for failure can be analyzed more accurately. |
