PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new-type drive mechanism for a vertical type roller mill, and a method for operation of the drive mechanism.SOLUTION: A drive mechanism for a vertical type roller mill having: a housing (10); a pressure plate (11) which is so supported on the housing (10) as to be rotatable around a vertical pressure plate rotational axis (12), and forms a follower of the drive mechanism; a transmission gear (13) which is provided in the housing (10) below the pressure plate (11), and is so connected to the pressure plate (11) as to be rotationally driven; and plural electric motors (14) which are so connected to the transmission gear (13) as to be rotationally driven, in which each electric motor (14) is formed as a cage-shaped motor which is asynchronously operated with sliding and with no rotation control.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
