<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new microorganism capable of efficiently decomposing hardly decomposable materials such as azo-based dyes irrespective of an aerobic or anaerobic condition, and a method for efficiently decoloring stained waste water containing the hardly decomposable materials such as azo-based dyes by using the microorganism, and applicable to conventional waste water treating processes. <P>SOLUTION: There are provided the microorganism named as Bacillus acidiceler KM; FERM P-22161, belonging to the genus Bacillus and having an ability to decompose azo-based dyes under an aerobic condition, and the method for treating stained waste water by combining the aerobic condition and the anaerobic condition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
