PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly specify the direction of a script image of a horizontally-written script in a specific language.SOLUTION: A line specification part 3 integrates the circumscription rectangles of characters specified by a character specification part 2 to specify the circumscription rectangles of a plurality of lines; a direction specification part 4 specifies, for each of the determined circumscription rectangles of the plurality of lines, the positions of one and the other short sides in the long side direction, and specifies the direction of a script image on the basis of a distribution of the determined positions of the short sides for the circumscription rectangles of the plurality of lines.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
