PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive active material for a rechargeable lithium battery, a method of preparing the same, and a rechargeable lithium battery including the same.SOLUTION: A positive active material for a rechargeable lithium battery includes a core including a compound capable of intercalating and deintercalating lithium, and a lithium metal phosphate positioned on the surface of the core and represented by chemical formula 1 defined by LiInMTi(PO), where M, x and y are as defined herein.
