PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an observation device which allows for quick start of observation without boring a large hole in a shield when the observation device is used for examining the internal situation of a collapsed house in the event of a disaster, for example, without hindrance even if the interior of the collapsed house is highly radioactive atmosphere or high temperature.SOLUTION: An observation device includes a metal tube 2 to be inserted rotatably into a hole H in ceiling S from the other side thereof, a lighting section 3 arranged at the distal end 21 of the metal tube 2 to be inserted into one side of the ceiling S through the hole H, an imaging section 4 arranged at the distal end 21 of the metal tube 2 to be inserted into one side of the ceiling S through the hole H, and a drive section 5 located on the other side of the ceiling S and giving a torque to the proximal end 22 of the metal tube 2.
