<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, a program updating method and a recording medium capable of quickly, accurately and easily performing program updating work. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes hardware resources including a printer or a scanner, an operating system, a program for performing the management, execution control and image forming processing of the hardware resources used in common from an application, an application for performing image processing utilizing the hardware resources, and a storage section which stores the application and the program. The image forming apparatus also comprises a network control means which is one of the programs, controls network communication and receives via a network updating data of the application or the program, and an updating means which updates the application or the program stored in the storage section on the basis of the updating data received by the network control means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
