The problem addressed by the present invention is to provide a tablet-type portable electronic apparatus having a compact size and able to perform card-based settlements. The tablet-type portable electronic apparatus (1) is provided with: a plate-shaped casing (2) having a front surface (21); a touch panel/display unit (3) provided to the front surface (21) of the casing (2); and read units (4, 5, 6) that perform read processing of a card (C2) pertaining to a settlement.
