PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate attribute information of an area, such as an area where home belongs or an area where a destination belongs, on the basis of vehicle travel history.SOLUTION: An area attribute estimation apparatus acquires position information indicating a position of a vehicle, divides a vehicle travel area into a plurality of areas, determines an area where the vehicle is located, on the basis of the position information, holds travel history information indicating areas where the vehicle is located, which change as the vehicle moves, determines the frequency of visits and variability of arrival times for each of the areas, on the basis of the travel history information, estimates an area having the frequency of visit equal to or larger than a threshold and the largest variability of arrival time, as an area where the destination belongs, and estimates an area having the smallest variability of arrival time as an area where home belongs.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
