<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container for radioactive materials including a container body and a lid body used with its mounted on the container body, the container for radioactive materials having excellent characteristics capable of preventing, in a highly advanced manner, leakage of radiant rays emitted from the stored radioactive materials to the outside of the container and, when taking the radioactive materials in/out the container, smoothly moving the lid body without using a large-scale external device such as a lift device or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The container for radioactive materials includes the following characteristics (A) to (C): (A) the container body and the lid body are formed of a radiation shielding material; (B) the container body has a columnar shape and includes, in its inside, a recessed space part for storing the radioactive materials, an opening is formed in the upper end of the space part and, in a closed state where the opening is closed with the lid body, the whole periphery of the opening is enclosed with a wall-like body; and (C) the opening can be opened by moving the lid body in the closed state in a horizontal uni-direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
