PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device which reduces a switching loss in a power converter of a normal system when a failure occurs in a power converter of any system or a coil couple, the control device being configured to control driving of a rotary machine including a plurality of systems of power converters and including a plurality of coil couples.SOLUTION: When a short-circuiting failure occurs in one of two systems of power converters or coil couples, the motor control device stops output to the power converter of the faulty system. Regarding output to the power converter of the normal system, a frequency of a PWM carrier is reduced e.g., from 20 kHz to 5 kHz. Thus, the number of times of switching per unit time is reduced in the switching element of the power converter when driving one normal system, and the switching loss is reduced. Therefore, power efficiency is improved and generation of heat with respect to the same output can be reduced. On the other hand, the PWM frequency is set to 20 kHz during normal driving, thereby securing controllability and quietness.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
