PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape printer which can print an image on a tape by reducing an image interval between an image with the preceding print processing and an image with the next print processing.SOLUTION: A tape printer comprises: a feed path in which a tape T is fed in the normal direction and the reverse direction; a print head 5 which performs print processing for printing an image A on the tape T at a print position Pp in the feed path; a tape cutter 6 which performs a cutting operation for cutting the tape T at a cutting position Pc on the downstream side with respect to the print position Pp in the feed path; and a platen roller which performs pre-print feeding for feeding the tape T before print processing and post-print feeding for feeding the tape T after print processing, normally feeds the tape T so that the upstream side end of the image A printed on the tape T is located on the downstream side with respect to the cutting position Pc as the post-print feeding, and reversely feeds the tape T as the pre-print feeding when the cutting operation is not performed after the post-print feeding at the start of the next print processing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
