PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charger including a tooth-shaped discharge member that can prevent a reduction in charging performance and unevenness in charging on a peripheral surface of a charging target body to extend the lifetime of the charger, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 includes a charger 51 that charges a photoreceptor drum 121. The charger 51 includes a case 511 and a tooth-shaped discharge member 512. The case 511 has an opening 513 arranged opposite to the peripheral surface of the photoreceptor drum 121, and is disposed along the longitudinal direction of the photoreceptor drum 121. The case 511 has the long tooth-shaped discharge member 512 stretched therein along the longitudinal direction of the case 511. The case 511 has a resistance film 611 formed on an inside surface along a portion opposite to the periphery on the side of tip parts 5123.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
