PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the time required for transporting a desired pallet even when input/out put requests are consecutively made.SOLUTION: A puzzle type storage has an entering/leaving part, a storage space and a lifter. In the storage space, pallets move in a depth direction and a width direction on a level surface of the storage space among the storage shelves to transport a storage item. From a lifter or a storage shelf, vacant shelves are disposed extending at least one side of the storage space to form a transportation path of a pallet. A transport control section 60 controls a target pallet to be transported to move to the target position via the transportation path.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
