<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool surface modifying method and a tool capable of transferring reinforcement particles to material having relatively high surface hardness. <P>SOLUTION: A shot S comprises temporarily sintered material of cemented carbide, and thereby the shot S reaching a surface of a tool W can be pulverized, and respective tungsten carbide particles constituting the shot S can be respectively brought into collision with the surface of the tool W. Thus, while the shot S in a state of being applied with large kinetic energy caused to reach the surface of the tool W, the tungsten carbide particles of small particle diameter are, through pulverization, brought into collision, and thereby resistance when the particles bite into the surface of the tool W can be reduced. As a result, the tungsten carbide particles can be efficiently transferred even to the surface of the tool W having relatively high hardness. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
