A display control device for displaying the state of the peripheral surroundings of a vehicle forms an image of the peripheral surroundings of the vehicle, extracts specific objects (e.g. vehicles, pedestrians, vehicle lanes, obstacles, etc.) from the formed image, displays the specific objects in the formed image, and does not display the image forming the background of the specific objects. As a result, images of specific objects of which a passenger in a vehicle (particularly a driver) should be aware are displayed, but images that form the background of said specific objects are not, thereby limiting changes to the display image during vehicle travel and attenuating passenger disturbance. |
