The present invention provides a power inductor which can prevent a short circuit of an external electrode, and a manufacturing method thereof. The power inductor comprises: a body; a substrate provided inside the body; a coil formed on the substrate; an external electrode formed in one surface of the body; and a connection electrode provided inside the body, and connecting the coil to the external electrode.
