The described embodiment relates to a method for controlling the lock state of an application and an electronic device supporting the same. The method for controlling the lock state of an application in an electronic device comprises the following steps of: receiving a first touch input for a first icon displayed on the screen; detecting a first duration time for which the first touch input is maintained; and setting the lock state of an application corresponding to the first icon when the first duration time is greater than or equal to a first threshold time.
