Disclosed are an imaging system in a vehicle and an image processing method. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the imaging system in a vehicle divides an original image into a first image for recognizing a rear vehicle and a second image for parking assistance in the rear, determines the size of a license plate of the rear vehicle from the first image to determine a distance between the vehicle and the rear vehicle from the size of the license plate, and displays the second image on a display unit in a backup mode of the vehicle. |
