The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for determining emotional information. The method of the present invention comprises the following steps: determining user emotional information, which is non-verbally expressed, by using an image corresponding to a subject and a depth map; and processing the determined user emotional information. The processed user emotional information is provided to a user through a content service in response to the user emotional information which changes in real time.
