The present invention relates to an image transmitting method which transmits an input image to an image play control apparatus so that the input image is played in a plurality of displays. The image transmitting method comprises the following steps: obtaining display identification information to identify a position of one display among the displays based on information on an arrangement structure of the displays transmitted from the image play control apparatus; extracting a sectional image, displayed in the display corresponding to the display identification information among the displays, from the input image; determining importance of the sectional image by analyzing at least one among viewing conditions for the input image and the displays; generating an encoding sectional image by encoding the sectional image in accordance with an encoding method corresponding to the importance; and transmitting bitstream including the display identification information, the importance, and the encoding sectional image to the image play control apparatus.
