摘要 FIELD: physics, control.SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a valve control device and a method of executing a self-calibration programme in the valve control device. A method of performing self-calibration includes the following steps. The first step includes providing a valve control device connected to a valve; determining presence of a short-circuit on a designated input of the valve control device with a duration equal to a first period of time, which is longer than a minimum period of time and shorter than a maximum period of time; performing a self-calibration programme, which includes the following steps: at the first step, saving system variables and mode settings; bumping the valve to indicate initiation of the self-calibration programme; determining the type of valve control; performing valve travel calibration; performing pressure range calibration; executing performance tuning; when the valve travel calibration, the pressure range calibration, and the performance tuning are completed successfully, setting an indication of successful completion, and exiting the self-calibration programme; when any of the valve travel calibration, the pressure range calibration, or the performance tuning are not completed successfully, restoring the system variables and mode settings; aborting the self-calibration programme, and exiting the self-calibration programme. A valve control device and a method for use thereof are also disclosed.EFFECT: no separate user interface and connection with an external field calibration tool are required.18 cl, 3 dwg
