The invention discloses an image depth estimation method. The method includes the following steps of (1) regional division, (2) iteration processing and (3) depth assignment, wherein the step (1) includes that an image to be processed is divided into a plurality of regions; and the step (2) includes (21) calculating saliency values, (22) judging whether the difference value between a maximum value and a minimum value among the saliency values of each region which current iteration is specific to is smaller than a set threshold value or not, if the difference value between a maximum value and a minimum value among the saliency values of each region which current iteration is specific to is smaller than the set threshold value, each region which current iteration is specific to is marked with background markers F0, stopping iteration, and otherwise, entering into the step (23), (23) standardization, binaryzation and corrosion which include that the saliency values of the regions, which are obtained in the step (21), are subjected to standardization to 0 to 255, the saliency values of the regions, which are subjected to the standardization, are subjected to binarization processing to obtain corresponding binary images, and the obtained binary images are subjected to corrosion to obtain corroded binary images, and (24) cutout processing. By means of the image depth estimation method, the obtained depth image gray value is accurate, and the depth image layering is high. |
