PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of outputting whether or not there is held foreign matter.SOLUTION: A passbook processor comprises: a reading part that reads the waveform of a magnetic signal from a magnetic stripe that a passbook has; a first determination part that decides in the waveform a first interval between peaks beyond a first threshold, and then determines whether or not there is a first abnormal part which is a peak interval larger than a prescribed peak interval in the first interval; a second determination part that decides in the waveform a second interval between peaks beyond a second threshold different from the first threshold, and determines whether or not there is a second abnormal part which is a peak interval larger than a prescribed peak interval in the second interval; and an output part that outputs a notification that there is held foreign matter when the difference between the first abnormal part and the second abnormal part is less than a prescribed value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 18
