PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of easily and reliably manufacturing a magnetooptical element for an optical isolator including polarizers having small angular changes of polarizer axes.SOLUTION: A polarizer substrate 1 is formed, by arraying a plurality of polarizers 2 made of rectangular small glass pieces in a sheet form and integrating them. Individual polarizer axes 2a hereof are provided so as to be arrayed in the same direction. Further, the polarizers 2 are formed rectangular, and the polarizer axis 2a for each of the polarizers is provided so as to be arrayed in a direction where it is inclined against the side of the polarizer at 45°.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
