LOCATION UPDATE METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MULTIMODE TERMINAL

Disclosed are a location update timer control method and device for a multimode terminal. The multimode terminal of a multi-stack structure can conduct location updating on time, thereby preventing the registration of the terminal from being implicitly eliminated by a network because location updating is not conducted in time. The method comprises: judging, by a terminal, whether it is in a branch stack state currently; and when it is determined that it is in the branch stack state currently, prohibiting, by the terminal, a location update timer of a designated network domain from being started at a first stack.
