PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switchgear that has high cut-off reliability irrespective of the direction of current without increasing the size of the switchgear.SOLUTION: In a switchgear 100, a magnet 4 and a suction bar 5 joined to one magnetic pole surface of the magnet 4 are arranged in an arc extension space portion of an arc extinguishing chamber 13, whereby arc occurring between a fixed contact 1 and a movable contact 2 can be extended in the direction to the magnet 4 along the side surface of the suction bar 5, regardless of the direction of the current. Accordingly, the switchgear 100 has high cut-off performance. Furthermore, at least a part of the magnet 4 and the suction bar 5 is covered by an insulating housing 10, whereby the arc can be compressed and the internal resistance is increased, so that the arc extinguishing performance can be further enhanced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
