PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel enzyme that exhibits glucose dehydrogenase activity for detecting/quantitating the glucose in a specimen, and to provide a novel method pertaining to enzyme modification.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a mutant enzyme, in which Glucose dehydrogenase/glucose oxidase activity ratio is increased compared with the enzyme before mutation, consisting of an amino acid sequence representing 90% or more identity with the amino acid sequence subjected to amino acid substitutions of the followings (a) and/or (b) in a specific amino acid sequence for imparting glucose dehydrogenase activity to glucose oxidase: (a) the substitution of the amino acid at position 446 of a specific amino acid sequence with histidine; (b) the substitution of the amino acid at position 582 of a specific amino acid sequence with proline.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
