PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method for lipid using diacylglycerol acyl transferase derived from plants, and to provide a gene, protein and transformant for use in the method.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a production method for lipid comprising the following steps (1) and (2): (1) introducing a gene encoding the following protein (A) or (B) into a host to obtain a transformant: (A) a protein consisting of a specific amino acid sequence; and (B) a protein consisting of an amino acid sequence having 80% or more identity with the above amino acid sequence and having diacylglycerol acyl transferase activity; and (2) collecting lipid from the obtained transformant.SELECTED DRAWING: None
