Teat in particular for babies and toddlers, having a hollow sucking part, which has at least one through-passage opening for liquid food and is connected, at the bottom, to a substantially circular-disc-shaped teat flange, which serves for fastening on the mouth opening of a container by means of a fastening ring with a circular-disc-shaped annular flange which engages over the teat flange and is intended for pressing the underside of the teat flange flatly against the end periphery of the mouth opening, and having at least one depression on the upper side of the teat flange, said depression extending in the radial direction of the teat flange, and therefore, when the teat is fastened on the mouth opening of a container, an annular flange of a fastening ring, said annular flange pressing against the upper side of the teat flange, is spaced apart from the upper side of the base of the depression and the teat flange, at least in the region of the depression, has sufficient flexibility for the base to arch upwards and for air to flow radially from the outside, beneath the upwardly arched base of the depression, into the container when the teat has been fastened on the mouth opening of a container and negative pressure is being generated in the container as a result of the sucking part being sucked. |
