PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric compressor for vehicle capable of discharging high voltage charges without exceeding the withstand voltage of a capacitor in the initial stage of vehicle collision, in a configuration where the energy storable in the capacitor is smaller than the energy storable in a motor.SOLUTION: When an abnormality is determined during operation of a motor 560, a control circuit 570 executes reflux mode for recirculating the current to the coil of the motor 560, by controlling an inverter device 550. Since the energy of the motor 560 is not regenerated to a smoothing capacitor 520 in the initial stage of abnormality of a vehicle 10, voltage rise of the smoothing capacitor 520, due to regenerative electric power from the motor 560 to the smoothing capacitor 520, can be suppressed. Consequently, in the initial stage of vehicle collision, withstand voltage of the smoothing capacitor 520 is not exceeded, and high voltage charges of the smoothing capacitor 520 can be discharged.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
