PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an acrylic copolymer, the method allowing for reduction of an amount of a monomer remaining in a polymer generated by a solution polymerization method.SOLUTION: The method for producing an acrylic copolymer according to the present invention is a method for producing by solution polymerization, an acrylic copolymer containing an alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer unit as a first monomer unit, and a second monomer unit in which reactive ratios rand rwith respect to the first monomer satisfy relationships of 1≤r<10 and 0<r<1 as a second monomer unit. The method includes: a step of supplying the first monomer, the second monomer and a polymerization initiator, and an organic solvent into a reactive system, and starting polymerization; a step of progressing a polymerization reaction until the total amount of an unreacted amount of the first monomer and an unreacted amount of the second monomer in the reactive system becomes 50 mass% or less with respect to the total amount of the total supply amount of the first monomer and the total supply amount of the second monomer; and a step of further progressing the polymerization reaction by supplying a third monomer in which the reactive ratiosand rwith respect to the first monomer satisfy relationships of 0<r<5 and 0<r<1, and the reactive ratiosand rwith respect to the second monomer satisfy relationships of 0<r<1 and 0<r<5.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
