PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder and an image forming apparatus capable of preventing productivity from being reduced, by balancing generation of electrostatic attraction force and discharge, without switching the power feeding and the discharging.SOLUTION: The sheet feeder includes power supply rollers for respectively supplying positive and negative voltages to electrodes 200a, 200b provided so as to extend in a circumferential direction of an attraction member 200, so that electrostatic attraction force is generated when a lower slack part of the attraction member 200 comes in contact with a sheet. In addition, the sheet feeder includes a discharging brush for coming in contact with the electrodes 200a, 200b at an upper part spaced apart from the lower slack part of the attraction member 200, to discharge the electrodes. The attraction member 200 has multiple interdigital electrode regions 210 independent from one another, arranged in the circumferential direction and in a width direction, and each having the electrodes 200a, 200b. The multiple interdigital electrode regions 210 are disposed so that ends in the circumferential direction, of the regions adjacent to each other in the width direction are shifted from each other in the circumferential direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
