PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight device for a liquid crystal display device, which can attain a wider color reproduction range than that of the prior art.SOLUTION: An LED module constituted of: a red light-emitting body 30 (R1) for emitting red light; a first green light-emitting body 30 (G1) for emitting green light and a second green light-emitting body 30 (G2) for emitting green light; and a blue light-emitting body 30(B) for emitting blue light, as light sources, is arranged on an LED substrate 310 constituting a backlight device. The first green light-emitting body 30 (G1) emits green light of a relatively long main wavelength, and the second green light-emitting body 30 (G2) emits green light of a relatively short main wavelength. In this constitution, in accordance with input image data, a light emitting body to be made a lighting state is switched between the first green light-emitting body 30 (G1) and the second green light-emitting body 30 (G2).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
