PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press forming method and a press forming apparatus capable of forming a flange portion into a smooth shape as designed without generating warping in longitudinal wall portions.SOLUTION: A press forming method according to the present invention includes a flange portion forming step of forming longitudinal wall portions (longitudinal wall portions W1 and W2) in a state in which a top plate portion C is pressed by a pad and end portions of the longitudinal wall portions (longitudinal wall portions W1 and W2) do not abut on metal molds for forming a flange portion F, and forming the flange portion F in a state in which the formed longitudinal wall portions (longitudinal wall portions W1 and W2) are put between the metal molds, fixed metal mold blocks 11 each having a bent portion 11a formed therein being used to form bent portions R serving as boundaries between the flange portion F and the respective longitudinal wall portions (longitudinal wall portions W1 and W2) in the flange portion forming step.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
