摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for a reduced crevice volume of a piston cylinder assembly.SOLUTION: A reciprocating engine 12 includes a cylinder head 68, a cylinder liner 42, an outer seal, and an inner seal. The cylinder liner 42 has a flange 84 proximate to the cylinder head 68, where the cylinder liner 42 extends circumferentially around a combustion chamber 14, and the cylinder head 68 defines an end of the combustion chamber 14. The outer seal is disposed between the flange 84 of the cylinder liner 42 and the cylinder head 68, where the outer seal is configured to transfer an axial compressive load between the cylinder head 68 and the cylinder liner 42. The inner seal is disposed between the cylinder liner 42 and the cylinder head 68 proximate to the combustion chamber 14. The inner seal is configured to isolate an inner face of the outer seal from the combustion chamber.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
