PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator capable of maintaining the freshness of food products in the refrigerator while simultaneously ensuring energy saving performance.SOLUTION: A refrigerator comprises: a container 101 including a storage space suppressed from a flow of air and storing vegetables; a shield member 120 covering an opening formed in a wall surface of the storage space of the container 101; a glass plate 122 disposed at a position of the opening outside of the shield member 120 and including a photocatalyst; a gas circulation unit 120a circulating the air of the storage space between the shield member 120 and the glass plate 122; and a light source, the light source being turned on after turning off the light source for predetermined time, and the light source is turned off again after passage of predetermined time for which ethylene gas is decomposed by the photocatalyst to increase a carbon dioxide concentration.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 24 |
