PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-wave waveguide that includes an impedance sheet added to impart a predetermined impedance characteristic for an electromagnetic wave.SOLUTION: A surface-wave waveguide 100 includes a base conductive ground plane 108 including opposite side edges 110, 112 and a pair of conductive side walls 102, 104. The surface-wave waveguide 100 also includes a substrate 114 including a dielectric material disposed on the base conductive ground plane 108 and between the conductive side walls 102, 104. The surface-wave waveguide 100 also includes an impedance sheet 106 disposed on the substrate 114 and between the conductive side walls 102, 104. The impedance sheet 106 includes a predetermined impedance characteristic for transmitting an electromagnetic wave.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A |
