PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing a nitrile compound under a relatively mild condition.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing a nitrile compound in which a reaction gas containing hydrocyanic acid is obtained by catalytically reacting methanol with ammonia and oxygen in the presence of an oxide catalyst containing vanadium, phosphorus, aluminum and silicon and the hydrocyanic acid contained in the reaction gas and a compound having a double bond in the molecule are reacted.SELECTED DRAWING: None
